My houseguest seems relaxed watching TV with me and letting me drink wine – win!

Spent the day with the boy, in which he bought me clothes, and treated me to lots of delicious food – definitely a lucky girl today.

A long trip up to Edinburgh on Friday, fuelled by coffee and Japanese rock.

Followed by sushi and fireworks yesterday…

…now what to do today?

Decided that baking some Creme Egg cakes for tomorrow’s feast would be a good use of my time…

…wonder if any will last…

Been looking forward to the Superbowl for a while as it’s just the beginning of some well deserved time off.

So I’m currently consuming gourmet hot dogs, American sweets and soda – soon to be followed by team coloured cocktails.

When we came to Edinburgh last year we had an amazing time – we found a popular little seafood restaurant called the Mussel Inn. This time round we decided to go back again – and it was still just as amazing!

A starter of creamy seafood chowder, followed by a kilo pot of mussels cooked in white wine, cream, garlic and shallots and finished off with a strange concoction of ice cream, coffee and Baileys in a glass. A bottle of naturally sparkling white wine was the perfect addition to this amazing meal.

If I could go there every day then I would. No seriously, I would.

Also on an additional note we met a friendly American man there this time last year and he just so happened to be there again this time; who knows, if we go back a year from now, he could very well be there again!

Our legs were in agony and our poor stomachs were rumbling after our trek round the Museum. So obviously we needed to refuel – with Fully Loaded Nachos and a couple of pints of Budweiser…perfect!

On our final full day in Edinburgh we decided to finally do something touristy; and so we went to the National Museum of Scotland.

Inside we marvelled at the work of an obviously badly skilled taxidermist, found out I weigh as much as a Komodo Dragon, the boy weighs as much as a Harbour Porpoise, discovered that I would look quite fetching in poofy renaissance style outfits and lost the Boy near Jackie Stewart’s Formula One car.

After a late night of wine and ‘Oldboy’, we had a lazy Sunday morning, before wandering to ‘The Stand’ for a bit of free comedy.

If I lived in Edinburgh I would frequent this establishment on a regular basis…but I might need to get a second job just to cover my bar tab.
